Angelina Jolie wanted to save the world

'Bad Santa' actor Billy Bob Thornton claims marriage to beauty Angelina Jolie ended because she wanted to save the world and he wanted to stay at home and watch 'Teletubbies' on TV.

Billy Bob Thornton and Angelina Jolie met in 1999 on the set of their movie Pushing Tin. They eloped to Vegas in May of 2000 and filed for divorce on July 18, 2002. After Angelina Jolie adopted their son Maddox, things went downhill.. Jolie accused Thornton of being more interested in his career than in Maddox. Sources say Jolie’s devotion to the child did not sit well with Thornton, who is very insecure and is a jealous person.

At the time, Jolie said, . 'I'm angry. I'm sad. It's a very difficult and sad time,'

'Sometimes you don't see things coming, even though they are happening. It was a real deep connection, a deep marriage, so it's not that simple to say this or that one thing caused the problems. It's clear to me that our priorities shifted overnight.'

The 'Bad Santa' actor denies the rumors that his adultery ended the marriage and claims they both just wanted different things.

Billy Bob told Empire magazine: "I never cheated on her.
"We had a great relationship. We loved each other the whole time we were together.
"We just had different ideas about our lives. She has her thing where she's all over the world and that's great, I respect her for that.
"I just want to stay at home. I watch a lot of sports on television. I'm a big baseball freak.
"And if I'm not watching sports I'm watching 'Teletubbies' with my two-year-old daughter Bella."
