Vanessa Minnillo upset with Jessica Simpson

Singer Jessica Simpson can't seem to let go of her ex Nick Lachey reports NW Magazine.
Pals say Jess has been sending her former husband Nick Lachey a series of hand-picked gifts, much to the displeasure of his girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo.

"She's always buying him gifts," reveals an insider. "When she sees shirts or hats she knows Nick would love, she picks them up at stores. I guess you can say it's force of habit."

Adds another pal of the Dukes Of Hazzard star, "Jess still cares about Nick."

Her latest purchase was a hand-knitted cashmere jumper, which set her back more than $1200. While Nick may have appreciated the gift, insiders say they won't be surprised if a jealous Vanessa, 26, makes him return it.

The couple were divorced in June 2006 after separating six months before. However, while Nick, 33, has found love with Vanessa, Jess, 26, remains single. With no man in her life to buy gifts for, the singer continues to shop for Nick, who openly admits, "I'm horrible at dressing myself."

In other news, Jessica Simpson and John Mayer were spotted shopping at Barney’s in New York City on Dec. 31 reports Star Magazine. The pair was perusing the jewelry counter and high-fiving each other. Then the couple was seen enjoying a leisurely lunch.
