Pete Doherty spends night in jail cell

Rock singer Pete Doherty spent last night in a jail cell after his latest run in with police reports Contact Music.

The Babyshambles frontman, 27, was arrested after a car reported as stolen that he was traveling in fled police after being ordered to pull over in Hackney, east London.

A Metropolitan police spokesman confirmed that three men aged 22, 27 and 35 were arrested at 05:00 GMT yesterday, although no charges will be levied against Doherty.

His arrest yesterday came hours after he told fans at a gig that he had no plans to marry supermodel girlfriend Kate Moss, despite rumors of a new year wedding in Thailand.

"I'm never getting married. I don't believe in it. Kate and I are in love – I worship her – but we're not going down the aisle. I'm happy the way it is," Doherty said.

In other news, Pete Doherty’s mother is reportedly furious she wasn't invited to her son
and Kate Moss’ Buddhist ‘blessing’ ceremony in Thailand.

A source told Britain’s Grazia magazine: “Pete’s mum and dad had no idea
about this blessing. They are stunned he’d do it without saying anything.
His mum in particular is really upset. She was in tears when she heard they
might have married.

“She is concerned that at this point in his recovery he is not emotionally
stable enough to deal with this situation.

“Jacqueline can’t believe Kate’s mum was there, but she wasn’t invited.�
Jacqueline isn’t the only person who doesn’t approve of the couple marrying.
Kate’s close friends actress Davinia Taylor and James Brown met last week to
discuss Kate’s “mad� relationship with Pete, while Sadie Frost was shocked
to hear her best friend had seemingly wed Pete in Thailand.
The source added: “Kate asked Sadie to go to Amanpuri with her but never
mentioned the blessing plan.
“All Kate’s crowd think she’s mad to commit to Pete but she was determined
to prove this relationship is serious and he does love her.�
