In the scene, Kidman is driving a Jaguar and trying to dislodge zombies hanging from her hood. Since it is the movies, though, Kidman was not actually driving the car. She was being towed by a rig. Us Weekly reports, "The stunt driver operating the rig skidded while taking a corner at roughly 45 mph, causing Kidman's car to hit a pole and knock over a garbage can." Officer Martha Garcia, an LAPD spokeswoman confirmed to People magazine, "A stunt vehicle went off course and struck a light pole. Nicole Kidman was one of the parties involved." Nicole's 10-year-old co-star, Jackson Bond, was also in the car at the time of the accident.

After the accident, Nicole was bundled in a blanket by crew members and attended to by paramedics. A statement from the Los Angeles Fire Department said, "There were no life-threatening injuries. They conducted a medical exam but the persons involved sought their own medical attention." In other words, after she saw the paramedics, Nicole was then taken in an SUV to Cedars Sinai Medical Center. The seven other people involved in the accident were also taken to the hospital, reported Officer Garcia. Kidman was released two hours later after it was determined that she had not sustained any serious injuries.
