Isaiah Washington seeking treatment for "behavioral issues"!

Let the healing begin. Isaiah Washington of "Grey's Anatomy" is continuing his quest to get back into the public's good graces. Since being publicly reprimanded for using a gay slur to refer to his homosexual castmate, T.R. Knight, Washington has fired his publicist and met with gay leaders. Now he has entered a treatment facility for counseling.

According to Life & Style Weekly, Washington entered a treatment facility on Wednesday morning after agreeing with ABC bosses to participate in a psychological assessment. An insider told L&S, "ABC has told [Isaiah] he must enter a program to examine why he would say such hateful words."

Washington made a statement about his treatment, which read, "With the support of my family and friends, I have begun counseling. I regard this as a necessary step toward understanding why I did what I did and making sure it never happens again. I appreciate the fact that I have been given this opportunity and I remain committed to transforming my negative actions into positive results, personally and professionally."

The executive producer of "Grey's," Shonda Rhimes, said in her own statement, "We applaud and encourage Isaiah's realization that he needs help and his subsequent choice to seek immediate treatment for his behavioral issues."
