Both Diaz and Timberlake attended the InStyle/Warner Bros. afterparty at the Hilton Oasis. Cameron was clearly trying to make Justin green with envy by getting close to her Gangs of New York co-star, Leonardo DiCaprio. A source for Daily Mirror's 3AM Girls said, "[Cameron and Leo] were glued to each other all night and in deep conversation. She was determined not to catch JT's eye."
The technique must have worked. A spy on the scene told the New York Daily News, "When he first came in, Justin steered clear of [Cameron]. But he made a beeline toward her when he saw her sitting on a couch with Leo DiCaprio. Justin smiled and raised his glass to Cameron and she did the same. Then he slid in next to her. They spent about 15 minutes talking, but didn't want anybody taking their picture." A Page Six snitch calls the interaction, "an awkward conversation."
Unfortunately, Cameron's plan backfired when Justin tried the jealousy tactic himself, cozying up to curvaceous Jessica Biel. Page Six's spies say Diaz "blew up" at Biel when she saw Timberlake talking with her. According to People magazine, Cameron and Justin then had "a serious exchange" in another room, which took 40 minutes. When Justin came back from the conversation he was holding his head in his hands and he "slammed his fist [down] into a cabinet."
The argument with Diaz didn't keep Timberlake from trying to enjoy himself that night, though. According to Perez, Justin left the InStyle party with his mother - his "date" that night - because of Cameron's "clinginess." He then headed over to the Universal party on the roof of the Beverly Hilton where he reunited with Biel. According to Page Six, that's when Cameron showed up again. She proceeded to yell at Biel for a second time that night. The source said, "If that's how [Cameron] wants to get him back, it won't work. She's desperate." I guess Cameron doesn't know that Jessica is dating Derek Jeter.
