Stella McCartney scolds Madonna over animal abuse
Madonna's friendship with Paul McCartney's fashion designer daughter, Stella has been undergoing serious stress lately. The cause? Madonna's recent forays into animal abuse. According to sources, Stella has had to advise Madonna several times to steer clear of animal cruelty. An insider told the London Mirror that the friends had gotten into a vicious row over the fact that Madonna had gone out wearing a $70,000 chinchilla coat. The snitch said, "Stella started off with a gentle lecturing, but she just seemed to get louder and louder. Madonna was trying to calm her down saying, 'Oh, let's change the subject' but she wouldn't let it go. Stella was ranting that it was murderous, and she started saying, 'What would you do if someone took away your children and killed them to wear their skin?'" In an attempt to calm Stella, Madonna assured her that the coat was vintage and that the animals had been killed a long time ago. Unfortunately, this did nothing to satiate the designer. On another occasion, Stella began a brawl with her pal when she learned that the popstar allowed hunting on her estate. Madonna and her husband, Guy Ritchie, had been renting a nearly $20K per day estate in England called Ashcombe, so that Guy and his pals could hunt pheasants. British newspaper, the Sun, reports that Stella was furious when she heard the news. The Sun claims McCartney "hit the roof when she heard Madge, 48, and Guy, 38, had released 3,000 imported baby pheasants for hunters to kill." The paper's source said, "Ashcombe's become a hunting factory and the Ritchies like playing rich landlords. Stella wasn't pleased when she heard about them releasing pheasants and spoke to Madonna." |
