Rosie may leave "The View"
As soon as Rosie O'Donnell replaced Meredith Vieira on "The View" in September there were rumors of tension on the set. Rosie's very liberal viewpoint has especially clashed with Elisabeth Hasselbeck's more traditional, conservative outlook on the issues. Now sources are claiming that Rosie has had enough and is ready to leave the show. An insider told the New York Daily News, "Rosie could be gone within six months. She's grown tired of the daily dramas with her co-hosts and the crew. She wants to spend more time with her family." Spending time with her family may become more difficult if Rosie decides to accept an offer from FX. She's been given a shot at her own sitcom on the network that would revive her role of Dawn Budge from "Nip/Tuck." Though Rosie's rep claims that the sitcom would be filmed during "The View's" summer hiatus, it's likely that the former "Queen of Nice" would be more likely to quit "The View" if the new show was stretching her time even thinner. Rosie's castmates on "The View" probably wouldn't be so sad to see her go. The NYDN source said, "She's turned it into her show. The others resent it. But if she goes, they'll play it as a 'mutual decision.'" Of course, Rosie's rep denies that her client has any plans to leave. "Rosie is having a great time. Everyone is getting along…There's no animosity," she said. |
