Poor Judith Regan
News Corp said earlier that Ms Regan made anti-Semitic remarks to a lawyer at its HarperCollins publishing division, and that these comments resulted in her dismissal last Friday. According to News Corp, she told the lawyer, among other things, that a number of HarperCollins executives "constitute a Jewish cabal against her". Bert Fields, Ms Regan's lawyer, referring to the News Corp allegations, said: "When you don't have a defence sometimes you come up with something like [claims of] anti-Semitism and racism. That will all be dispelled at court." He added that Ms Regan had started legal action. "She is owed a very substantial amount." Ms Regan's dismissal came less than a month after Mr Murdoch's cancellation of Mr Simpson's If I Did It, a book and television interview that was greeted with near-universal outrage when announced. The book hypothetically detailed the murder of his wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman in 1994. Many felt this amounted to a confession. Meanwhile, Ronald Goldman’s father has filed a federal suit on Tuesday, claiming that O.J. “profited from the death of my son.
