Lindsay Lohan trudges on with her journey to sobriety
Lindsay Lohan continues to make her experience with Alcoholics Anonymous public. The actress spoke with People magazine on Monday about her experiments in sobriety and admitted that, though she has been involved in AA for a year, she has only been alcohol-free for a week.
Lindsay's interview defied logic as she tried to explain her involvement in AA. Though she has supposedly attended meetings "for a year," she only claims that she has been sober for "seven days." Her year-long participation in AA must not have been very successful if after a year she's only managed to stay dry for a week. She also played the I'm too young to drink card, claiming, "I'm not even legal to [drink], so why would I?" It's never stopped her before. In fact, seconds later she admitted, "I drink with my friends at home." Lindsay then babbled on for a few more minutes about her decision to toss the sauce. She said, "I feel better not drinking. It's more fun…I didn't feel bad before. I never felt bad. I just wanted to, like, find a balance. I was out too much. I was too caught up. I mean, I'm 20 years old. I was off from work, I was getting ready to start a film, and I was like going out just to get it out of my system. I was going out too much and I knew that, and I have more to live for than that." Finally, the actress got down to the heart of her decision: she's joined AA for good press. Lohan admitted, "I was like, 'I don't want to be written about at these clubs with these people.' I work, I act, I have a living. That's what I do every day. I work every single day." |
