Lindsay recently shot print ads for Miuccia Prada's Miu Miu line. It was a triumph for Lindsay to land the campaign as she had been rumored to have been in the running for Chanel and Louis Vuitton campaigns before, but those jobs never came to fruition. But it turns out Lindsay may have been Miu Miu's second choice. According to Page Six, Jessica Simpson was also in the running for the position, but lost out because of her loyalty to her hairdresser, Ken Paves.
The Miu Miu photoshoot was shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, who ended Jessica's chances when they saw she was being considered. An insider told Page Six, "[Alas and Piggott] felt snubbed by Jessica because they were set to do her Vanity Fair shoot several months ago. Being the professionals they are, they wanted to bring in their own hair and makeup team, but Jessica said if they didn't use Ken, then she wasn't sitting for the shoot…Most fashion photographers use their own people - and they certainly don't use Ken Paves, who is considered tacky and amateurish for high-fashion shoots. He's very 'Texas pageant hair.'"
Because Jessica would not work with anyone but Ken, her Vanity Fair shoot was cancelled, leaving Alas and Piggott with a grudge. And now that the photographers have nixed Jessica's chances at the Miu Miu campaign, she has one more thing to hate Lindsay about. Of course Simpson's rep claims she never would have done the ads to begin with. The mouthpiece says, "She could not have done the campaign anyway because she has her own clothing and shoe line."
