Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt want to adopt more children
Though Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt couldn't be happier with their biological child, Shiloh Nouvel, the couple intends to adopt more children in the future, Jolie told Diane Sawyer on "Good Morning America." Adopting children from other countries will allow Pitt and Jolie to raise their children in a multi-racial environment, allowing Cambodian born Maddox and Ethipian born Zahara to more easily adjust. Angelina said, "Yes, we have Shiloh and it's been a wonderful experience, but we want to find another brother or sister in the world for our family. I want [Maddox] to know that as our family grew and we all came together, we didn't just start having children, biological children."
The actress explained her thought process in making adoption decisions. She said, "You know, now the questions are more when you have a mixed-race family, do you balance the races so there's another African person in the house for Z? So there's another Asian person in the house for Mad? Shiloh has Brad and I she can look at. What's best for the children as they grow?…We don't just want to have different children from different countries. That's not the point." Jolie also cleared up the rumors that she is pregnant with her second child with Pitt. She jokingly told Sawyer that if she were pregnant she "shouldn't have been drinking wine last night." Then she addressed the query more seriously, stating, "No, we're not [pregnant]. I'm on the pill." |
