Britney Spears’ fan site owner begged Spears for $50,000
Britney Spears’ biggest internet fan club will close in January The 25-year-old - who has been seen partying since filing for divorce from Kevin Federline - has shocked fans on website www.worldofbritney.com so much they have decided to shut it down. Ruben Garay, who founded the website, revealed: "As Britney keeps losing her identity and credibility within fans and industry people, so is WoB. We're moving on to greater, bigger things. I would therefore like to announce the permanent shut down of World of Britney.com beginning January 31st, 2007," the site's Webmaster Ruben Garay, said in a news release posted on the site. "I think that WoB has had its run.......its feet are not holding firm anymore, not because of my ability to run it, but because I believe Britney is unfortunately done (for me at least). No matter what anyone thinks or how they may disagree, it's very hard to maintain the respect needed to keep things going, so in turn, I'm trying to be a step ahead of it." The website has had almost 37 million visitors since it opened in 2000.

Either way, he's selling his business and entertainment network sites to a bigger company for over $3 million and WoB is going to be included in that deal. I asked him what was going to be done with it and he said "nothing" because the new buyer was not even interested in WoB. I asked him what could be done for me to be able to keep the website and transfer 100% ownership to me and he told me I would have to buy it off from him for $50,000 or best offer. So , unless that happens, it is with 100% certainty that WoB will be lost when the sale goes live in January of 2007. Do you have any thoughts?
