Although he’s only been officially single for about a years time after his split from Jessica Simpson, Nick Lachey proved that he isn't commitment-shy when he told his girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo that he wanted them to get married reports Star Magazine.

A friend of Nick's reports that this freshly divorced singer is tired of the single life. He sees a future with Vanessa Minnillo and doesn't understand why they should wait to make it official. However, Vanessa isn't in the same rush to the altar, and thinks they need more time to get to know each other better. Reps for both parties deny the reports of marriage strife, but confirm that the two are happily dating.

In other news, MTV VJ and "Entertainment Tonight" correspondent Vanessa Minnillo has booked a role in 20th Century Fox's Fantastic Four: Rise of The Silver Surfer. She'll play the love interest of Chris Evans' character, the Human Torch.
