Britney Spears is ready to splash out almost $30 million on a new home.
The singer, who is selling the Malibu property she shared with estranged
husband Kevin Federline for $13.5 million, reportedly wants to buy a place
in Florida for more than twice that amount.
Britney, 24, is said to be looking around Miami at properties costing up to
$29 million.
The 'Toxic' singer is considering performing a series of Las Vegas shows to
help pay for the new house.
Britney is reportedly negotiating a 20-week, $15 million exclusive
performance contract with the Palms Hotel and Casino.
A source told America's Star magazine: "This makes sense. The people who own
the Palms are long-time fans of Britney and are eager for her to perform
there. The deal is worth a fortune."
Britney surprised fans by presenting the Best Female Soul R'n'B Artist Award
at the American Music Awards (AMAs).
She wore a low-cut cream knee-length dress and was also sporting new long
blond hair extensions.
Fans almost missed out on seeing Brit, Life & Style reports that Brit was furious that Jimmy Kimmel made a punch line out of K-Fed. Standing in the wings, the insider says, "She said she didn't want to go out there.
She went through with her appearance at the urging of a producer, then "ran off the stage in tears, says the insider. Brit holed up in her trailer outside LA's Shrine Auditorium and was "just devastated, the insider adds.
In his opening monologue as host of the American Music Awards, Jimmy called K-Fed a "no-hit wonder just before a skit in which a likeness of Kevin was placed in a wooden crate and dumped in the ocean. Jimmy quipped that that was the last anyone would ever see of K-Fed.
AMA presenter Jesse McCartney said: "She looked great. She got back on the
horse, in my opinion."
