A source told Britain's New magazine: "No one wants to be dragged through
the heartache that Madonna has. It's a real shame.
Angelina and Brad are currently in Pune, India, filming 'A Mighty Heart',
which Angelina is starring in and Brad is producing, and last month they
visited the Priva Darshini orphanage together.
In the interview, in Newsweek, a reporter asked Madonna about the perception that she's "jumping on a bandwagon" by adopting an African orphan.
"Look, I could have joined the U.N. and become an ambassador and visited various countries and just kind of showed up and smiled and looked concerned" says Madonna (gossips say this is an Angelina Jolie slam) .
"But that's not getting to the root of the problem-and by the way, neither is building orphan care centers and giving people food and medicine. But it's a start. I'm saving people's lives. And whether I have earned the right to do it, or the respect of people who think I may not have the right to do it, is completely and utterly irrelevant. And in any event, no, I'm not interested in going in there like a dilettante and being an idiot and going 'Ok, I'm going to build 10 orphanages and I'll see you guys later!'"
Britain's New magazine source continues "Angelina was so saddened. When people start questioning the legality of
adoption, of whether you'll be able to keep the child, it gets into a
territory that's just heartbreaking."
The source revealed: "Angelina has a philosophy that people enter your life
for a reason, that you go to a place for a reason. This made India a perfect
spot for them to explore introducing a new culture into their lives. She
believes so strongly in adoption.
"Brad would prefer a boy no older than 18 months to even out the sexes but
Angie has told him she can't guarantee she won't fall in love with a little
girl.
"They had originally hoped to be able to bring the child home before
Christmas, and had even thought of a name, India, to honour the child's
homeland."
Brad recently said he would like at least six children, enough to make a
mini-soccer team, while Angelina has made no secret of her desire to have a
big adopted family.
She recently said: "I believe I'm meant to find my children in the world and
not necessarily have them genetically."
In other news, Angelina Jolie has taken a break from shooting a film about the life of murdered journalist Daniel Pearl in India, to meet refugees from Afghanistan and Burma reports BBC.
With her 5-year-old son Maddox, the star toured an Afghan Sikh refugee camp in New Delhi on Saturday.
Some 9,500 Afghan Sikh refugees are in India reports Reuters. They fled Afghanistan after the Taliban seized power in 1996 and targeted non-Muslims.
Angelina Jolie also visited the one-room home where a refugee from Burma lives with her three children, it said.
The woman, told Jolie that she and her children left after her husband was arrested by the military government in Burma, the statement said.

What a crock. What about the poor little child to be left in India because these two don't want adverse PR. Why do you print this garbage to give Pitt/Jolie any credance at all.
IN A NUT SHELL - An adoption would have been good for Brad's oscar bid - but adverse publicity would not. Maybe she's pregnant. That would do it, wouldn't it?

What a vile, disrespectful article this is. Madonna has not "ruined" this adoption, but the media'a reaction to sensationalise and demonise a wonderful act to sell papers and bag out one of their favourite celeb punching bags. Shame on you for perpetuating this with your ridiculous, misrepresentative headline.
