Sources spilling to WWD say Spears has sidestepped , People, which ran the first photos of the then-happy family in December. Instead, she's gunning for the prestige of a monthly or bimonthly.

A clause in the Britney Spears's prenuptial agreement guarantees estranged husband Kevin Federline proceeds from all photos. Another complicating factor is that Spears has dropped her longtime rep, Leslie Sloane Zelnick, and is now back with her old manager, Larry Rudolph.

A spokeswoman for People said, "We would be more than happy to have these pictures in People."

In other news, Britney Spears made an early morning visit to the Sony Music Studios in New York City last night. She was all smiles as she was escorted into the building.
