Paris Hilton is over-exposed

A new survey published by Forbes.com, has crowned socialite, pop singer and actress Paris Hilton as the most over-exposed celebrity.

Paris Hilton was followed by Britney Spears, Anna Nicole Smith, Spears' husband Kevin Federline, former Baywatch star Pamela Anderson, actress Lindsay Lohan, Tom Cruise and Nicole Richie reports AP

Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen were eighth followed by Michael Jackson, developer Donald Trump and Jessica Simpson, whose 'overexposure' rating had soared from 17 per cent in 2003 to 41 per cent in mid-2006.

Robert Thompson, the founding director of the Center for the Study of Popular Television at Syracuse University, said celebrities had to tread a fine line between courting the spotlight and knowing when to retreat.

Meanwhile, Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie have rekindled their friendship.
'The Simple Life' stars met up last week at Nicole's adoptive father Lionel Richie's Los Angeles home.
The one-time best friends mysteriously fell out over a year ago but last week Paris called Nicole to wish her a belated happy 25th birthday.
The pair then met up at the Beverly Hills hotel last Wednesday (04.10.06) at about 1pm for about 10 minutes. They both drove separately to Lionel's home where they both stayed until after 3pm.
That morning, Nicole had met boyfriend Brody Jenner in Malibu where she ended their relationship. She later wrote on her MySpace blog that her "heart was never in it" and felt that he was using her for publicity.
