Madonna's adoption moves along
All signs are pointing to the fact that, despite her publicist's denials, Madonna is in the process of adopting a Malawian child named David. The Associated Press is reporting that the popstar took custody of the 1-year-old child on Thursday and that she and her husband, Guy Ritchie, have filed adoption papers. Madonna and Guy have also received temporary adoption approval from a Malawian judge. Yohame Banda, David's father, said, "[Madonna and Guy] are a lovely couple. She asked me many questions. She and her husband seem happy with David. I am happy for him. Madonna promised me that as the child grows she will bring him back to visit." The director of child welfare services for the country states that Madonna and Guy "have followed the normal processes. This has been going on for some time. Now this is the completion point." A court registrar informed the press that Judge Andrew Nyirenda "has just given out an interim order," which has granted Madonna with permission to take the child home with her. |
