"Grey's" may replace Washington over his homophobic comment

Could Isaiah Washington's hateful tirade be the end of his job on "Grey's Anatomy"? Insiders tell In Touch Weekly that Washington's days playing Dr. Preston Burke may be numbered.

An insider told the National Enquirer, "The melee has set off World War III on the show and may cost Isaiah his job. The cast is divided over the shameful event." The "shameful event" is Washington's use of the word "faggot" to refer to his gay cast mate, T.R. Knight, while in a physical fight with another co-star, Patrick Dempsey.

Another source close to the show told In Touch, "'Grey's Anatomy' is bigger than just one actor. It's about the ensemble and Isaiah threatens that chemistry." According to the magazine, producers of "Grey's" are exploring the idea of replacing Isaiah with another actor. ABC has already met with Bill Bellamy, Boris Kodjoe and Eriq LaSalle for the part.
