MTV’s 24-hour college network, today announced presenters for the 2006 “mtvU Woodie Awards�? – the only awards honoring the music voted best by the college audience. College favorites Ghostface, 30 Seconds to Mars, Slug of Atmosphere, the Subways, Eugene Hutz of Gogol Bordello, Murs and Lady Sovereign are among those confirmed to take the stage, joining with college students from across the country – who will present “Woodie�? awards to each of the night’s winners – as they celebrate the music they lived their lives to this year. Additionally, Brandon Reilly of “Woodie�?-nominated Nightmare of You will dj the pre-show, spinning music from this year’s nominees. Confirmed performers include Beck, Imogen Heap, TV on the Radio and Gym Class Heroes. These and other surprise guests will all descend on New York’s Roseland Ballroom October 25th, for a show that’s become established as a launch pad for on-the-verge acts, helping past winners and performers such as Fall Out Boy, the Killers and Matisyahu “graduate�? to MTV2, MTV and mainstream success.
