Hollywood star Angelina Jolie has sparked a race row by playing a mixed-race woman in her
latest film.
The Hollywood beauty has been cast as the widow of murdered US journalist
Daniel Pearl in 'A Mighty Heart' - which is being produced by Angelina's
partner Brad Pitt.
The casting decision has angered black campaign groups who are furious a
white woman has been chosen for the role.
One outraged person wrote on website blacklooks.org: "I had assumed the days
when white actors took on roles of black people had long passed."
Another wrote: "You can't tell me Halle Berry, Judy Reyes or other women of
African descent wouldn't have been a better choice."
Speaking on Halle Berry, has been cast in a new Dreamworks movie based on the life of Tierney Cahill, a white teacher.
In Class Act, Berry will portray Cahill, the teacher from Reno, Nevada who was challenged by her sixth-grade students to run for Congress in the 2000. Cahill ended up losing her bid, but won 35 percent of the popular vote.
Producers have reportedly said they wanted to cast the best actress in the part, regardless of color.
Oscar winner Angelina plays French freelance reporter Mariane Pearl, who was
five months pregnant when her husband was kidnapped by Islamic extremists in
Pakistan in 2002. The Wall Street Journal reporter was later beheaded.
Despite the furore surrounding the film, the real-life Mariane, 39, is
pleased that Angelina will be playing her in the movie.
She said: "I'm delighted Angelina Jolie will be playing my role. I deeply
admire her work."
Meanwhile, Donald Trump doesn't find Angelina Jolie attractive... and says she treats
her father like a "dog".
The billionaire business mogul cannot understand why so many men are
infatuated with the 'Tomb Raider' actress, and claims one of the reasons he
is turned off by her is because of the way she has behaved towards her dad,
actor John Voight.
Trump told CNN news anchor Larry King: "She is not even that attractive. I
think he's (Brad Pitt) a smart guy for narrowly dodging the marriage issue.
I'm not a fan of hers as you probably noticed.
"I know her father. Her father is a nice guy. I think she treats him like a
dog
but maybe they have some kind of a thing."

It is so pathetic that it is APPLAUDED when a black woman plays a part based on a white woman, but when a white woman does the reverse, the race card is played. How pathetic. It's moving forward when one race does it and taking a step back when the other does it. How about equal opportunity for EVERYONE, not just ethnic minorities.
Let's look at the most important thing...the women are happy with who are portraying them.
