Kate Bosworth blames the curse of Superman for her split from Orlando

Kate Bosworth has blamed the curse of Superman for her split from Orlando
Bloom.
The pair ended their on/off four year relationship earlier this month, but
neither star would give an official reason for the break-up.

The break-up came just months after rumors circulated that Orlando was
planning to marry the 'Superman Returns' actress.
Just two months ago the actor was reportedly caught kissing and "dirty
dancing" with 'Romeo and Juliet' actress Claire Danes at a charity ball in
England.

Last week, the former lovers were trying desperately
to avoid each other.

The pair -were due to cross paths at New York Fashion Week.
However, the two stars made sure they were kept apart at all times and
informed of one another's movements at the event.
An insider told the New York Post newspaper: "Their people were speaking
every hour to make sure Orlando and Kate avoided each other at all costs.
They coordinated their schedules."

Kate has now confided in friends that she and Orlando decided to go their
separate ways because the stress of being apart while she was promoting
'Superman Returns', in which she plays Lois Lane, was too much for them.
A friend of the actress is quoted by Britain's Daily Express newspaper as
saying: "The stress of Kate filming and then promoting 'Superman Returns'
was too much for her - especially with Orlando being so busy with 'Pirates
of the Caribbean' at the same time.
"It's something they had suffered before in their relationship before but
Superman was the one that broke them up. Kate never believed in the curse
before - but she does now."
Several actors have become the 'victims' of the so called curse of Superman,
including George Reeves, Marlon Brando, Richard Pryor, Margot Kidder and
Christopher Reeve.
Reeves - who donned the superhero's cape in the 1951 film 'Superman and the
Mole Men' and the subsequent television series 'The Adventures of Superman
- allegedly committed suicide on June 16, 1959, just days before he was to
be married.
Iconic Superman actor Christopher Reeve, who played the Man of Steel in four
movies in the 80s, was paralysed from the neck down in May 1995 in a tragic
horse riding accident.
He eventually died in October 2004 due to heart failure caused by his
medical condition.
Kidder, who played intrepid reporter Lois opposite Reeve, was diagnosed with
bipolar disorder and in April 1996 she went missing for several days.
When she was found by police the actress was in a delusional state and had
been living with homeless people.
