Earlier this week, Jessica told US talk show 'The View': "I am actually not
dating John Mayer."
That was followed by reports claiming John had dumped the 'Dukes of Hazzard'
actress.
A source close the Simpson family told Radar magazine: "The story was 100
per cent Shuter.
"He broke all the rules of the game. I wonder how much Jessica even knew
what he was up to."
Jessica issued the following statement to TMZ: "I did not fire Rob Shuter. He is a great publicist and a great friend."
Meanwhile, An emotional and frustrated Rob Shuter acknowledges to TMZ that he is not representing Jessica anymore, but says "We remain good friends."
Now a well-placed source connected to Jessica tells TMZ Shuter made up the statement he attributed to Jessica. The source says Jessica never authorized Shuter to issue the statement, nor did she have any knowledge of it.
Shuter tells TMZ not only does he 100% stand behind the statement he issued on behalf of Jessica, he says he has it in writing from her.
The confusion hasn't stopped Joe from commenting on the alleged
romance.
He said: "If my daughter's happy, then I'm happy. If she's in love, then I'm
in love with the fact that she has found happiness. It's been a tough year
for her."
