Eminem's divorce to be handled by mediator

Eminem and Kimberley Mathers have been forced to seek mediation for their divorce proceedings after the couple was unable to reach a settlement today in Michigan. Macomb County Circuit Judge Antonio Viviano said, "We didn't settle it, so all we did was set it for mediation.� A mediation date has not been set.

Lawyers for both Eminem and Kimberley were unwilling to divulge any details on what has halted the negotiations. Eminem’s lawyer, Harvey Hauer said, "Mr. Mathers' only concern is the welfare of his children. Hopefully, we'll put the matter behind us." Kimberley's lawyer added, "Like Marshall…what [Kimberley] really wants is the welfare of the children. The parties are hopeful that it will be settled amicably."

Eminem filed for divorce from Kimberley in April, about three months after marrying her for the second time. The couple has a 10-year-old daughter named Hailie Jade Scott Mathers. Kimberley also cares for her first daughter and her sister’s daughter. Eminem is the legal guardian of his half-brother.
