Brad Pitt tries to reunite John Voight and daughter, Angelina Jolie

Life & Style Weekly is reporting that Brad Pitt persuaded Ocean's Thirteen co-star Scott Caan to invite both John Voight and daughter, Angelina Jolie hoping a chance meeting would spur a reconciliation reports National Ledger

"Brad totally miscalculated," says the Jolie family friend.

"His intentions were good but entirely misguided. Brad has been pushing Angelina for months to bury the hatchet with her father, but she doesn't want his input. She resents that Brad thinks he knows what's best for her."

Voight and Angelina have not spoken for four years after he said she needed help for "mental problems" on national television.

Now , John Voight appears to have wrecked his chances of reconciling with daughter Angelina Jolie after he got the name of her adopted daughter wrong.

The actor was talking to a film crew on the red carpet at the fourth annual BAFTA Tea Party when he called Angelina's Ethiopian daughter 'Shakira', instead of Zahara.

The 'Tin Soldier' star made the gaffe while trying to send a happy birthday message to Angelina's adopted son Maddox.

Voight said: "Happy birthday, Maddox! Five years old. That's a big one. Five years old. You're getting to be a young man. I send my love to you and I send my love to, uh, Shakira and, uh, Sha-Sha-heera, is it Shee-ra, Shahira?"

The actor quit while he was ahead and didn't attempt to send his love to his youngest grandchild, Angelina's daughter with Brad Pitt, Shiloh Nouvel.

Who'd have thought - Brad Pitt a single father - I give them 3 months - what about you? At least if he is a single father he can make this Jolie weirdo stop in one country long enough for her children to make some real life friends. What a silly boy he was leaving Jen - following his lust - she would be mad to have him back!
