Avril's busy schedule
If you’re an Avril Lavigne fan, you’re in for some good news. The 21-year-old singer is working on her new album. Avril sat down with MTV in New York during Fashion Week to discuss the recording she has been doing and also to talk about her first few months as wife to Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley. Of the new album, Lavigne says, "I've got to say, this record is going to be so much fun. It's really upbeat. I have a few love songs - it's so funny. Of course, I still have my boy-bashing songs, but they're very playful. So the record is really fun and cool and different, and honestly I think it's my best record yet. I can say that with confidence." Perhaps the reason for Avril’s confidence is the fact that she has been working with her husband on some of the 15 songs she’s penned. Living and working together hasn’t seemed to cause any problems for the couple. "Married life f---in' rocks! If you're with the right person, it's amazing," says Lavigne of being Mrs. Whibley. Avril is also collaborating with Rob Cavallo, Dr. Luke and Butch Walker. Regarding her partners, she says, "I'm doing my ballads with Rob Cavallo, I give my pop-rock songs to Butch, I give my rock songs to Deryck, and Luke has been experimenting with different sounds and stuff." But music isn’t the only thing on Avril’s plate right now. She is also starring in her second film, Fast Food Nation, which is a fictional expose of the fast food industry. "It's really cool and exciting," Avril said about the movie. "It was really an awesome project to be involved with because of what goes on in the fast food industry - behind-the-scenes things we never hear about, so I think it's important." |
