Orlando and Penelope: Hot new couple?

Orlando Bloom may have only just recently ended his relationship with Kate Bosworth, but the actor is apparently already Cruzin’ for chicks. The Lord of the Rings star has been spotted out twice with Penelope Cruz at Hyde in LA this week.

According to a source for Page Six, "They were definitely together and holding hands." Meanwhile, US Weekly reports that last Saturday at the club Orlando and Penelope danced to “Run Around Sue� and Orlando kissed Penelope’s hand “affectionately.�

Is Anna Nicole's wedding a cover up?

Anna Nicole Smith and her lawyer Howard K. Stern have taken the first step toward becoming man and wife on Thursday morning. The pair participated in commitment ceremony in a catamaran just off Nassau, Bahamas.

The couple issued a press release about their ceremony that read, Anna Nicole and Howard “boarded a boat to quietly sail the ocean around Nassau…on a clandestine sail to recapture simple pleasures - fresh salt air on the face, a sunrise on the ocean, and wind in their hair. And then a good thing happened: during the sail, Anna Nicole Smith and Howard K. Stern made a commitment before God to be there for one another, to be each other's strength during this difficult time. By mid-morning, helicopters flew overhead, speed boats approached, and camera-equipped scuba divers invaded what had been an otherwise perfect moment of peace, solitude, and hope. The event was intended to be totally private between two adults deeply in love with each other and needing simple reassurances that they could count on one another through life's ups and downs. The outing was never expected to be shared with anyone other than Howard, Anna, [her newborn daughter] Dannielynn Hope and a few close friends and family."

Jay-Z and Beyonce to take over the world with Chris and Gwyneth

It could be one of the entertainment industry’s most lethal alliances. Hollywood princess Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband, the prince of whiny rock, Coldplay’s Chris Martin have joined forces with the king of hip hop, Jay-Z and his queen of R&B, Beyonce.

The two couples made nice last night during and after Jay-Z’s performance at London's Royal Albert Hall. Paltrow helped to sing the chorus of Jay’s “Song Cry,� while Martin sang on two songs: “Heart Of The City (Ain't No Love)� and an as-yet untitled track from the rapper’s upcoming album, Kingdom Come.

Jessica Simpson's got problems

Perhaps Jessica Simpson’s dismal album sales have gotten to her. The singer has been acting out a lot lately and is no longer the happily ditzy gal she was on “Newlyweds.�

According to Page Six, Jessica left the after-party for her sister’s run in the Lodon version of the musical "Chicago" in a huff. She reportedly stomped off yelling, "I don't want to be here - why won't people just leave me alone?" Earlier that same night, Jessica was an emotional mess, crying while her sister was on stage. She said, “"I was weeping. I was so proud. I couldn't be more proud of her. My face is swollen, I have butterflies, and she pulled it off perfectly." Jessica’s dad accounted for her daughter’s mood swings by telling the Mirror, "Jess is quite down at the moment. She's not comfortable talking to people as she's quite depressed and we're walking on eggshells."
