Nicole Richie and Brody Jenner's relationship heats up

Nicole Richie and Brody Jenner's relationship is heating up reports People Magazine.

"I was there when (Brody) was born!" Nicole's dad, Lionel Richie, a longtime friend of Jenner's songwriter mom Linda Thompson and Olympic track star dad Bruce Jenner, tells PEOPLE. "They grew up together. To see them together now is like, 'Where are you going with this?' But they're having a wonderful time."

Just three months after splitting up with ex-fiancé DJ AM – for the second time – Richie, 24, has been cozying up with the 23-year-old Princes of Malibu star. (He recently split from yet another reality TV star, Laguna Beach alumna Kristin Cavallari.)

Speaking of, Kristin Cavallari says she is over ex-boyfriend Brody Jenner, if the T-shirt she’s been wearing that reads “You Can Have Him�? is any indication!

But just because she’s moving on doesn’t mean she’s above dissing Brody’s new girl — scary skinny Nicole Richie.

“I think it’s really sad the way she looks,�? she exclusively told LifeandStylemag.com at a Club Monaco store in L.A on Aug. 22.

Anyway, People continues Indeed, from lunch at Hollywood's La Conversation Café (a Nicole fave) last week, to dinner at Mr. Chow, to an A-list birthday bash for celeb stylist Rachel Zoe in Hollywood, the two "just fit together," says a source who knows Richie and Jenner.

"They are a very normal couple and Brody is a decent, nice, down-to-earth guy," the source continues. "Even though it's relatively new, it seems like they’ve been together forever." Or at least since the '80s, when the pals often played at one another's houses.

"(Nicole) is like my godchild. ... She's a darling girl, very intelligent and very together," Thompson tells PEOPLE. "I think they're very cute (as a couple). Will they get married? Who knows? He's young and so is she."

But does Jenner get the all-important dad stamp of approval? "Oh, yeah," says Lionel. "He's a great kid."

I saw a picture of them standing together and she has the body of an 8 year old. You just know he's miss'in Kristen.....BAD!

My comment is not based on previous comments, just my thoughts in regards to how people judge these celebrities. She's a beautiful girl and perhaps if everyone would allow her to deal with this instead of broadcasting it, then she might get better faster. Is anyone really okay in Hollywood? Our judgemental society screams TOO FAT! TOO TAN! TOO FAIR! TOO SKINNY! TOO SPOILED! TOO GRUNGE! - criticizing every aspect of these stars' lives. However, we watch and eat it up as they are devastated by some of the alarming headlines. Get a life. And if you think you can do celebrity right, then become one. Nicole is a person. Inside and out. When was the last time a headline screamed out something positive? These people have lives to live. And deal with their own torment. In their own way. We give the tabloids credibility by purchasing them and then disseminating the information. Since when is it in good taste to spread torrid rumors or highlight someone's illness or problem? If this was a relative of yours, would you like to have them battered in public? Will that cure someone's problems? ARe we positive she has a problem? Or is she someone who had a goal and exceeded it and is now trying to gain a few pounds? Are we suited to diagnose her? Leave the diagnosis to those best qualified. Leave the judgement to God. And if you don't like the way she looks, stop looking!
