Nick Lachey Insults Vanessa Minnillo

While girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo stayed behind in the US, Nick Lachey recently spent a week on a publicity tour of Australia for his new album, What’s Left of Me reports Star Magazine.

While there, he talked at length about many things: being single, reviving his career, divorcing Jessica… he even took time to diss his ex-father-in-law! But the one subject he did not speak about: Vanessa!

Should she be worried? She might be if she read Nick’s Aug 6 newspaper interview in which he said: “I’m single again, and the whole dating thing is very interesting.� Nick, 32, also proudly announced: “I’m into girls in general- it doesn’t matter where they’re from!� For days later, he told the Herald Sun, in Melbourne, that he is romantically spoken for- he would not confirm that Vanessa is the lucky woman, though. Nick feels it is now best to keep certain things private, learning this lesson over the years. The reason Vanessa split from longtime boyfriend, Derek Jeter, a source says ‘is that she couldn’t get him to make a commitment, and Vanessa was anxious to get married- but Derek refused to settle down.� A source claims, “When they first started their relationship, Nick was totally captivated, and he kept telling his friends he found the woman he wanted to marry. But in the past few weeks, he’s decided he wants to enjoy his new life as a single man before rushing back into marriage.�

Asked by an Australian radio station whether he’d rather be stuck on a deserted island with the devil or with Joe Simpson, Lachey reportedly replied: I’ll take my chances with the devil!�
