Over the last few months, Fantasia has been hard at work on the Lifetime TV movie depicting her struggles, including her rape and pregnancy at age 17. The film “Fantasia: Life is Not a Fairy Tale,� is scheduled to debut on the network on August 19, but “American Idol� producers are furious over the portrayal of the show in the movie.
The film alleges that Barrino was asked by producers to consider dropping out of “American Idol� because she might not make a good role model, being a high school drop out and unwed mother. The talent competition’s executive producer, Ken Warwick told the New York Post, "Certainly, under no circumstances was [Fantasia] ever approached to be talked out of taking part in [“American Idol�]. We knew she had a baby right from day one, and she was always strongly tipped to win the competition because she was so good. I can absolutely refute that nothing was done, or even remotely suggested to her that she shouldn't take part in the competition. It's a complete fabrication."
Fantasia has not yet addressed “Idol’s� concerns with the movie. She did talk about the process of playing herself in the film at the Television Critics Association's recent summer meeting. Barrino said, “I didn't think it was going to be tough going back playing myself, but it was because I had to relive those moments…At the end, I began to cry and I said, 'I went through all those things, but I know why I share my life.' I'm thankful that I was able to do it."

Fantasia Barrino couldn't sing her way out of a paper bag. She has a loud mouth. She don't sing, she streams like she lost something! I guess she likes the oh me. poor me and what ever she does.

She sings beautifully. I love her voice. Plus she's recording a duet with Aretha Franklin apparently someone likes her voice..I mean Aretha is the Queen of Soul. More power to Fantasia. I really like her!

I HATE her mouth....she needs her side teeth filed down terribly, I think Aretha just pities her, I'll believe it when I see it!

YOU. SOMETIMES SHE OVER DOES IT BUT SHE IS STILL A TALENTED YOUNG LADY.

I think Fantasia is a wonderful singer. She knows what she is doing. She really can move peoples heatr and soul when she is singing. I dont think she acts like "POOR ME" She is just for real. We should be proud of her.

some people is just jealous of fantasia. i think she sing great and for the persons that sAYS SHE HAS A BIG MOUTH THAT IS WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A GREAT SINGER TO OPEN YOUR BIG MOUTH. THE BIGGER THE BETTER. I JUST WISH YOU CAN BRING A GOSPEL MUSICAL TO SAINTPETERSBURG FLA ONE DAY GOD BLESS YOU

I love Fantasia. She has a unique and beautiful voice and she's a fantastic entertainer...she just has that star quality that draws people to her. Many people find her sense of self disarming but I love it, and I love to see the effect she has on people - it just shows how powerful she is. And she doesn't try to get pity - she's just real and honest.

Fantasia has a wonderful voice and she should never give up. there are going to be alot of haters out there but forget them and she needs to just keep doing what she's doing. C'mon there many singer out now and really cannot sing or sing live. and fantasia has what it take to be a great superstar.
