But even if Lance’s revelation was far from startling, I applaud the guy. It takes guts to come out. Bass told People magazine that he struggled with his sexuality back in ‘N Sync’s heyday. "I knew that I was in this popular band and I had four other guys' careers in my hand…I didn’t know: Could that be the end of ’N Sync? So I had that weight on me of like, ‘Wow, if I ever let anyone know, it's bad.' So I just never did," he said.
Luckily he no longer has to worry about his fellow ‘N Syncers. I think we can say for sure that their comeback ship has sailed. But People claims Lance is still paired up professionally with one of his bandmates, Joey Fatone, who was the first of the ‘N Sync clan to know of Lance’s sexual orientation. The magazine says that Bass and Fatone are developing an “Odd Couple-inspired type sitcom. A la “Ellen, Lance’s character will be gay.
I hope Lance’s new venture works out. With “Will and Grace off the air, the networks are feeling less flamboyant. Perhaps the CW will pick up the project.
