Kylie Minogue "fell to pieces"

In her first interview since her breast-cancer diagnosis in May of last year, Australian singer Kylie Minogue says that she and her family "fell to pieces" when they first heard the news from physicians reports People Magazine.

The pop princess fought back the tears as she revealed in a candid interview
with British TV presenter Cat Deeley that she tried to run away after
hearing the dreaded news in May last year (05).

"The moment my doctor told me, I went silent," Minogue, 38, reveals in an interview to be broadcast on Britain's Sky News on July 16. "My mum and dad were with me. Then we all fell to pieces. I was saying, 'No, dad, I'm getting a plane.' He said, 'No, you're not getting a plane. You'll sit down."'

Surgery to remove the tumor followed.

The 'Spinning Around' singer was told her breast cancer was in full
remission in January, after she underwent months of grueling chemotherapy
treatment that caused her hair to fall out.

"I feel like I've got a second chance at life. It's like a new life," she says in the interview.

During the frank hour-long special, 'Kylie In Her Own Words', the Australian
star emotionally thanks her family and boyfriend Olivier Martinez for their
support.
She then goes on to discuss her future projects, including a children's book
and a new album, and insists she is determined to complete her 'Showgirl'
tour - which she was forced to cancel after the diagnosis.
The interview will be screened on British satellite channel Sky One on July
16.

Last month, Kylie Minogue she announced plans to stage the Australian leg of her Showgirl tour she was forced to postpone last year.

It has been renamed the Showgirl Homecoming tour and is due to start in November.

Australian concert promoter Michael Gudinski said Minogue "has still got a few mountains to climb".

But he added: "You can't keep Kylie down. She's actually recording in the studio and working on songs as we speak."
