Katie Holmes's itching to get back to work

If Tom Cruise thought his fiancée, Katie Holmes was going to be content leaving her career behind after giving birth, he was wrong. The 27-year-old actress may love being a mother to newborn daughter Suri, but that doesn’t mean she wants to be a stay-at-home mom. A friend of Katie’s told Us Weekly, "She's still very much involved with Tom and the baby. But she does want to start working again soon."

The magazine reports that Holmes met with her agents at CAA on July 19 to discuss her next movie role. Us’s source said Katie is looking for an "older, more mature role" than those she’s taken in the past.

And Katie doesn’t want to wait much longer to get started. Said the insider, "She knows it's been too long. She doesn't want to give up her career for her new life.�
