"The drugs that I do have been done in my own private time," he told the Observer Music Monthly magazine. "I've never been arrested - though that's not to say that I won't. I've done way too many drugs already. I've already inhaled and I've already - who knows?"
"Some drugs haven't been legalised because it will ruin the other drugs, like nicotine and tobacco," he insisted. "Nicotine is more addictive than heroin. I'll leave the preaching to the preachers - my grandfather is a preacher - but I believe that you don't do anything to excess.
"They always say too much of a good thing could be a bad thing. I try to live my life in a well-rounded manner. We all make mistakes."
Timberlake refused to admit which drugs he has taken - explaining that he does not wish to "fuel the fire".
He added, "I'm just like everyone else - I get completely plastered, I've done my fair share of drugs and been caught places with my pants down. It's just that I make sure there are no cameras around."

Meanwhile, despite s back-up from Oscar winners Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey, Justin Timberlake's feature acting debut in "Edison Force" is headed straight to video stores and DVD sales reports LATIMES.
Justin Timberlake's debut was slammed by reviewers
Variety said, "As a study of fearless journalism, George Clooney's 'Good Night, and Good Luck' won't have to worry about competition from 'Edison.
' " The Hollywood Reporter called it "a star-studded dud of a B-picture populated with corrupt politicians, rogue psycho cops, noble newspaper reporters and enough posturing to start up a chiropractic clinic."
"Edison Force," whose cast also includes Dylan McDermott and LL Cool J, was shown at last year's Toronto International Film Festival, where instead of applause it reportedly drew unintended laughs for its over-the-top dialogue. And yet the DVD experience of "Edison Force" will offer something moviegoers could never get: a special segment titled, "Absolute Power: Behind the Scenes of Edison Force."
