Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey finalize divorce
Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey, have finalized their divorce, a spokesman for the singer-actress said on Saturday. The papers, filed Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court, officially end their three-and-a-half year marriage. TMZ reports, Jessica and Nick agreed to end the marriage immediately, but deal with their financial dispute at a later date. "All I am confirming is that they are now in fact divorced," a spokesman for the singer-actress told Reuters. Sources tell TMZ that Jessica has offered Nick $1.5 million to walk away from the marriage, even though under California law Nick would be entitled to half the fortune the couple amassed during their marriage. The marriage of Simpson and Lachey crumbled late last year .. Lachey, who is reportedly dating MTV star Vanessa Minnillo, recently revealed he has yet to get over Simpson. He said, "I'm in the process, but I've been consumed with the album and haven't had a chance to feel sorry for myself. "I think it's a process. I don't know if I'll ever be over Jessica." After the split , Nick wrote the hit tune What's Left Of Me about their split. Jessica, who wed Nick in 2002, said: "I never really wanted to sing about that. I don't feel like singing the blues. "I'm not in that frame of mind. It's really just about me going out and having fun." Explaining what inspired her new song A Public Affair, she added: "I'm going to go out and have a good time with my girlfriends and my friends and just make it a public affair." Lachey, 32, is promoting his album "What's Left of Me." " Simpson's full album won't be in stores until Aug. 29. |

He should get half if it were turned around everyone would say she should get half. We want womens rights but don't want men having the same rights. We believe the women should get half but a man should just walk away with nothing. doesn't seem equal to me. Jessica doesn't seem like the sweet and innocent type to me more like paris. jessica is just more discreet. She used nick to get where she is now she should have to pay him. Glad to see nick is trying to move past the jessica/joe duo.

hey i think jessica and nick made the perfect couple and i dont kno y they broke up they were so sweet to one another! and nick knows he made that song for jessica it dont matter what he trys to say i love ya jessica you so sweet and i hope to c u and nick together again well i dont have time to sit here and right you guys sorry ima about to go out with my friends bye!

Well I have been great fans of the two for a long time. I was very suprised to even here of the split. I don't think that they even tried to stay together. The relationship had to be hard. Everyone has there ups and downs. It was very upsetting. I dont think that they will ever be that happy with anyone else. They should everything split 50-50 since they both state that they want to stay friends. Thats the only way they will get some kind of a happy ending.
