Colin Farrell feared he would be kidnapped when gunfire broke out on the set
of his latest film.
The actor dove for cover when a drug runner fired at a security guard while
he and Jamie Foxx were filming 'Miami Vice' in the Dominican Republic.
The 30-year-old Irish star said: "When it happened, I was thinking, 'They're
going to kidnap us and I'm going to be in a basement with a hood over my
head eating porridge and water'."
The incident occurred when Mario Torres, 44, approached a special forces
guard outside a hotel in Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic capital, and
fired six shots.
The guard returned fire and managed to shoot Torres once in the side. No one
else was injured during the incident, and Torres was charged when he left
hospital.
Filming on the project was postponed for a week and security around the cast
and crew was increased.
Following the incident, Oscar-winner Foxx flew back to Hollywood and
initially refused to return.
