At the outdoor, non-denominational ceremony, Lavigne was walked down the aisle by her father, John, to Mendelssohn's "Wedding March." She wore a Vera Wang gown and carried a bouquet of white roses reports People Magazine.
The couple said their vows under an awning decorated with white flowers in front of 110 guests, including family and friends..
Once the groom had kissed the bride, guests tossed rose petals at the newlyweds as they walked back up the aisle reports People Magazine.
After the wedding, guests were to be treated to an outdoor cocktail hour before the reception, including a sit-down dinner, under a tent on the estate.
The couple's first dance is expected to be to the Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris."
Lavigne, a native of Napanee, Ontario, and Whibley, of Toronto, have been dating since early in 2004. Deryck had proposed to Avril in Venice, Italy in June of 2005, during her European tour.
Star Magazine reported that yesterday Avril, and Whibley, were scheduled to become man and wife shortly after 6 p.m. Pacific time, at the ten-acre Hahn Estate -- formerly known as "Lilly Belle" -- in Montecito, Calif., just a few miles down the road from Oprah Winfrey's spread.
A source told Star that outside of the couple's family members and closest friends, the only show-biz celebrities on hand were members of the couple's respective bands.
"There looked to be fifteen security guards patrolling around the exterior of the estate, which has a long, winding driveway leading from the entranceway to the grounds where the ceremony took place," an eyewitness tells Star.
"There was a huge tent with red velvet curtains set up on the premises, and they had a big generator out on the main road supplying extra power for the affair.
"A jazz band was hired to entertain the guests. And Avril and Deryck couldn't have picked a lovelier day for their wedding -- the temperature was in the mid-80s and the sun was shining brightly."
In the days before the scheduled ceremony, the couple reportedly had been staying at the exclusive San Ysidro Ranch, a chi-chi resort nestled in the Montecito foothills near the Pacific Ocean. The Ranch's top suite, the Eucalyptus, goes for $3,990 a night!
