Without her publicist, Britney Spears botched interview

Britney Spears’s publicist, Leslie Sloane Zelnick learned the hard way that her client needs a babysitter. When Spears sat down for an interview with Matt Lauer for “Dateline� last week, the popstar was a mess. The interview made it clear that while Britney is indeed no longer a girl, she’s still not yet a woman.

Page Six says that the "Dateline" crew was blind sighted by Britney’s appearance and demeanor when they met with her last week. A source revealed, " When [the NBC crew] got there, they thought they had the wrong day…During the interview, no one was there to rein things in…Neither of [Spears’s] publicists, Leslie Sloane Zelnick or Nanci Ryder, showed up.�

Spies at Spears’s mansion, where the interview took place, claimed that Britney “insisted on doing her own hair and makeup.� This tidbit of information explains Britney’s chosen look for the segment: messy hair, poorly attached false eyelashes, a denim mini-skirt and a see-through top. In previous interviews, Spears has managed to clean up quite well and has dressed more appropriately for prime time television.
