"The Devil Wears Prada"

Based on the best-selling novel, "The Devil Wears Prada" stars two-time Academy Award winner Meryl Streep as high-powered fashion magazine editor Miranda Priestly, and Anne Hathaway, as Miranda's new assistant – a small-town girl trying to survive her impossibly demanding new boss.

Runway Magazine the fashion bible of New York and therefore the world, is overseen by Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep). A stint as Miranda's assistant could blast open the doors for recent college graduate Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway). Andy is completely wrong for the job. But she has something the rest of them don't: she refuses to fail. To become the perfect assistant, Andy will need to make herself over in Miranda's image. Soon, much to her boyfriend's dismay, she can talk the talk, walk the walk and never again confuse Dolce with Gabbana. But the more of life she sees through Miranda's eyes, the more she begins to grasp that Miranda's world is a fabulous but lonely one--and that sometimes great success depends on great sacrifice.

Streep is Priestly, and I mean that from the topmost swoop of her divine, leonine silver coif to the polished tip of her pointiest Manolo. As she throws her PETA-disapproved fur jackets around, she exudes fearsome power with every shriveling glance she tosses over the tops of her reading glasses, every despotic command she murmurs. Streep has noodled around with comedy before — air kisses are in order for her great silliness in the Lemony Snicket movie, and her hilarious ballbusting in the remake of The Manchurian Candidate. But we haven't seen our Meryl like this until now, relishing the role as if it were the swellest Best of Everything achievement award a 13-time Oscar nominee could receive writes Entertainment Weekly

I was expecting a “chick flick? with plenty of fashion garbage wrapped up in superficiality, bitchiness and nothing much at its center -- and no, I’m not talking about my date! <> What I got instead was an actual good time, courtesy of an actress who goes by the name of Meryl and Streep, who I’ve always enjoyed over the years, but whose status as “the uber-actress? was always lost on me. That is until recently as I too have converted over to the side of “big fan? of this awesome woman, who can seemingly play anything and everything across the board, while at the same time, convincing you of her character, inside and out, and even providing some depth to certain personalities who on the surface, seem to have none writes joblo

"The Devil Wears Prada," as that spot-on title would indicate, takes place in the world of haute couture. And that pretty much sums up the movie. Otherwise, it would be just another Queen of Mean, boss from hell movie. But, oh, what delicious fun Meryl Streep and her conspirators -- co-star Anne Hathaway, director David Frankel and writer Aline Brosh McKenna -- have with that world and with a woman who would be considered its god except for the fact that Miranda Priestly would probably consider that a demotion. This comic chick flick should enjoy boxoffice success with female audiences in urban markets in North America and Europe writes hollywoodreporter

This surprisingly amusing movie uses snide sarcasm to full effect in the process of telling what ends up being a rather fashionable moral fable writes ComingSoon

Meanwhile, Actress Anne Hathaway says her co-star Stanley Tucci is obsessed with her breasts.
The 'Devil Wears Prada' actress revealed her cheeky colleague would repeatedly elbow her in the chest to demonstrate his fondness of her assets.
She said: "He would just smack me in my boob and elbow me.
"It really hurt, so, after about the fourth time, I finally said, 'Stanley, can you please stay away from my t**s?'"
However, the curvaceous brunette insists Tucci wasn't deterred by her request.
She added: "He got really flustered and said, 'What do you expect? You're flinging those melons around like its harvest season'."
In 'Devil Wears Prada' Hathaway stars as a naïve country girl, Andy Sachs, who moves to New York and lands a job with the city's most ruthless fashion 'shark' - played by Hollywood legend Meryl Streep.

In other news, Anne Hathaway says she was "gobsmacked" when she saw Meryl Streep in action reports TMZ. "It was so different from the way Miranda was on the page," says Anne. "I think I stared at her mouth agape."

When Meryl Streep sat down to plot her role as the vicious fashion maven in "The Devil Wears Prada," she didn't want the film to just be a "a documentary of Anna Wintour or Vogue." As the actress puts it: "I wanted to make this person up."
