According to a source close to Jones Reynolds, "ABC has asked her not to return to the View tomorrow morning."
A source close to the show confirmed that Star had been asked not to return reports People Magazine.
Star Jones Reynolds' announcement came more than six months after ABC executives decided not to renew her contract when it expires later this summer, Barbara Walters, the show's co-executive producer, said in an interview after the broadcast.
``They had done a great deal of research, and her negatives were rising,'' said Walters, who, like Jones Reynolds, has been a co-host of the program since its inception nine years ago. ``Not so much because of what she did on the air. It was things she did off the air. The audience was losing trust in her. They didn't believe some of the things she said.''
"Something's been on my heart for a little bit, and after much prayer and counsel I feel like this is the right time to tell you that the show is moving in another direction for its tenth season and I will not be returning as cohost next year," Star Jones Reynolds' said on the air.
"That's shocking to me," interrupted Joy Behar, prompting Jones Reynolds to link hands with her cohosts.
As for where she'll go next Jones Reynolds said, "I'm not sure what the future holds, but I'm absolutely sure who holds the future."
The show's creator, Barbara Walters, wrapped up the discussion by saying, "It is a new chapter for Star. It will be a new chapter for The View in the fall."
Star reveals exclusively in this week's PEOPLE magazine that the departure was not her choice.
"What you don't know is that my contract was not renewed for the tenth season," she tells PEOPLE. "I feel like I was fired." She adds that she was told her contract wouldn't be renewed just days before news leaked that O'Donnell would be joining The View.
Show creator Barbara Walters said Reynolds had known for several months that she would not be coming back, before Vieira's announcement in April that she was leaving.
"I would have loved for Star to have left and not said 'I was fired,' and not make it look like the program was somehow being cruel to her," said Walters.
Reynolds told People that she got the news her contract wouldn't be renewed days before news leaked that O'Donnell would be the show's newest addition.
O'Donnell has publicly criticized Jones for not revealing how she lost so much weight.
"Star says she's lost that weight through diet and exercise," O'Donnell told a TV reporter earlier this year. "Yeah, I'd like to see that b---h do a pushup."
Jones Reynolds says her last day will be sometime in mid-July. She says she's "not sure what the future holds."
She called her time on the show "the most amazing nine years of my entire professional and personal life."

I agree with Tracy! She is so annoying and no cares what she thinks anyways. Fired or quit I might watch The View now. She needs to check her man (how you doin'?)!
