Naomi Campbell Will Beat Again!

Runway model Naomi Campbell braved the biggest horde of international press and photographers to descend on Manhattan Criminal Court since Russell Crowe appeared there, as she faced charges of assaulting her maid reports NYTIMES.. Dressed in a sleeveless black mandarin-collared dress and three-inch heels, Naomi Campbell worked the steps, sidewalks and the court halls like a runway. She entered the courthouse at 9:54 a.m., with a beefy bodyguard in dark glasses and a woman who seemed to be an assistant. She passed through a metal detector, but she was not carrying anything and her silver ankle bracelets did not set off the alarm.

Her appearance before the judge lasted about three minutes, with more than 75 reporters, photographers and camera crew jamming the room.

Lawyers for Campbell are discussing a possible plea deal with the Manhattan district attorney's office in her cell phone assault case, a prosecutor told a court on Tuesday.

"There has been no grand jury action at this time. We are talking about a disposition," assistant District Attorney Shanda Strain, the assistant district attorney told Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Evelyn Laporte.

In March, Campbell was arrested at her home and accused of hitting Scolavino in the back of the head and opening a cut that needed four staples to close.

The 36-year-old celebrity model faces up to seven years in prison if convicted for that incident.

On Monday, Campbell was accused by another maid, Gaby Gibson, of hitting her.

Gibson, who worked for the British beauty until earlier this year, filed the suit in Manhattan Supreme Court, accusing Campbell of "personal injuries, employment discrimination, civil assault and civil battery."

Gibson is seeking "actual, compensatory and punitive" damages relating to the alleged January 17 assault.

In April, Gibson told British newspaper The Sun that Campbell had "assaulted me too -- and for the same reason as the other girl -- over a pair of jeans. She hit me with her hand on the back of the head when I couldn't find her Stella McCartney jeans."

Six years ago, the model pleaded guilty to hitting former assistant Georgina Galanis with a telephone and was ordered to take anger management classes.
