Kevin and Britney Spears vacation together - separately

When Britney Spears went on “Dateline� last week to discuss the rumors that her marriage is in jeopardy, she reassured interviewer Matt Lauer that everything with her husband, Kevin Federline is “awesome.� But a source for In Touch Weekly seems to indicate otherwise. Though the couple went to great lengths to be photographed together on a recent trip to Florida, it turns out they spent most of their time in the state apart.

Spears and Federline’s trip to Aqua Island cost them $250,000. The reason for the hefty price tag? In Touch’s source claims Britney and Kevin had separate houses so that they wouldn’t have to spend their vacation together. “She did it to get away from Kevin,� Britney’s “friend� said.

Another confidant of Spears says the popstar “wants the world to think [she and Kevin are] happier than ever.� Unfortunately, though, the couple is having trouble keeping up appearances. While in nearby Miami for a promotional event, Federline was up to his old tricks. He stayed out until 3:30 am with eight buds (and no Britney). The guys danced and downed Cristal. Kevin’s club-going behavior is said to be one of the couple’s sore spots.
