The brunette star has also revealed she brought her 7-year-old daughter Lily - from her relationship with actor Michael Sheen - on set with her as much as she could so she wouldn't miss her during filming.
Meanwhile, Beckinsale has ruled herself out of starring in the new 'Wonder Woman' movie - because she doesn't want to embarrass her daughter.
The actress - who dressed up as the whip-wielding superhero for Halloween last year - said: "I've embarrassed my daughter enough. I don't think appearing in my underpants is appropriate."

The actress, tells Allure magazine in its July issue, on newsstands Tuesday, that she's only dated two men in the past 10 years.
The Britain-born Beckinsale, who now lives in Los Angeles, married Underworld director Len Wiseman in 2004. She has a 7-year-old daughter, Lily, with ex-boyfriend, actor Michael Sheen.
Beckinsale says she was puzzled when people accused her of being promiscuous. "'Oh, she ditched the father of her child and ran off with somebody else,"' she says, recalling the negative reaction to her relationship with Wiseman.
"I mean, look around this town and tell me one other person who's slept with only two people in a decade," she continues. "I might just be the only one."
And finally, according to Female First, Kate Beckinsale has expressed her dismay at US TV’s coverage of the World Cup.
Beckinsale said: "The World Cup is very exciting. It's all we've got. I mean that's it - it really is.�
That’s not necessarily true now is it?…While in New York recently, Beckinsale and family went to watch a match at a pub.
"We went here and watched it in a pub and I was expecting a huge crowd and there were like five people.
"Me, my daughter, my husband. Anne Hathaway was there for some reason, I have no idea why.
“In fact, you hear the American commentary, which is a big shocker for us, and they're obviously rooting for which ever other team it is (playing England).�
