Is Gwyneth the next Madonna?

Gwyneth Paltrow is moving in on her husband and her former best friend’s territory. She’s been working on recording pop songs with Madonna’s “Ray of Light� producer, William Orbit. This wouldn’t be the first time Paltrow has dabbled in music. She sang a couple of songs in Duets, a film directed by her late father, Bruce.

According to a source for British newspaper, the Sun, Orbit said, “[Gwyneth and I] bumped into each other and got talking and it turned out she was keen to do some recording. We’ve already done a track which will make a brilliant first single.�

The newspaper reports that Gwyneth and William have been working hard in his London studio since she gave birth to her son Moses in April. At first the pair were just messing around, but the results wound up better than they expected. The Sun’s insider said, “Gwyneth has got a fantastic voice. While she is enjoying being a new mum, making music is a great way to relax. But the stuff [she and William] are making is working out so well they are talking about releasing it.�

Don’t expect Gwyneth to try auditioning for a part in Coldplay, though. The source said, “Gwyneth has messed around with Chris - so to speak. She would not work on music with her husband, she feels like she would be treading on his toes. When they are together they like to be away from work.�
