Lawyers for the 38-year-old ex-model said the News of the World's claims were "untrue and highly defamatory".
"The interests of her daughter (Beatrice, 2) are of paramount concern," the statement says. "She will defer issue of legal proceedings until the arrangements in relation to the divorce are concluded, but intends to sue at that stage all parties, including individuals, who are intent on damaging her reputation."
The statement continues: " Heather is very distressed by this article. She continues to recover slowly from her revision amputation operation and has suffered weight loss, anxiety and sleeping problems as a result of the stress and anxiety of the break up of her marriage. The coverage of this in certain newspapers has caused further distress and illness to her."
Heather Mill McCartney also confirmed Tuesday that she and former Beatle Paul McCartney will divorce.
The couple had not mentioned "divorce" when they announced on May 17 that they had "decided to go our separate ways" after four years of marriage reports USATODAY.
Since that announcement, she has been the subject of several unflattering newspaper articles which included pictures of her in naked or semi-naked poses.
Heather Mills McCartney appeared in two X-rated publications in the
80s, it has been revealed.
The former model reportedly posed
for 1988 US book 'Sexual Secrets' which contains pictures of her simulating
full sex.
In one shot, Heather is seen exposing herself, while another photograph
shows the model draped over a male co-star's knee while he spanks her bare
bottom.
'Sexual Secrets' was published by New York firm Arlington who sold
publications worldwide via an erotic book club.
The graphic book describes itself as a "photographic journey through exotic
love acts" and does not contain any words.
The second publication is believed to be a French magazine.
Meanwhile, Heather made a desperate midnight dash to Paul's home last night
(12.06.06).
The visit to the legendary musician's London home - her first since the pair
separated - follows allegations the blonde used to be a high-class
prostitute.
A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "She didn't make a fuss when
she arrived and didn't say anything when she went inside the house."
Paul has been dividing his time between his homes in London and East Sussex
since the couple separated.
He is said to be "deeply shocked" over allegations Heather had earned £5,000
a time for sex with wealthy Arabs.
Heather vehemently denied the claims during a phone conversation with Paul
on Sunday (11.06.06).
