Von Tussle is the show’s villain, a role originated in the film by pop singer Vitamin C. She is the rival of Hairspray’s heroine, Tracy Turnblad. This won’t be Haylie’s first attempt at playing a bitch - her most well-known part was Summer, Pedro’s opponent for class president in Napoleon Dynamite.

Haylie will begin her stint at Amber on July 18 and will perform 8 times a week. Sister Hilary will be attending Haylie’s premiere performance. She wrote in her blog: "I can't wait. I will be there ... with bells on."
