Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie left Namibia

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie left Namibia with their newborn daughter and their two older children after a two-month stay at a luxury beach resort, an official said Saturday.

Samuel Nuuyoma, the governor of the Namibian region of Erongo, confirmed the family's departure but would not say when they left or where they went.

On June 7, the couple told reporters at a press conference that they'd planned to leave Namibia within the next few days so that Pitt could begin filming Ocean's 13.

Later, in an interview with the Namibian Broadcasting Corp., Pitt said, "I'd just like to thank the people of Namibia. They've been so gracious and made our stay here very special, and because of that we've had an incredible time with our family exploring the country, and a truly peaceful birth of our daughter."

Jolie called their visit "an amazing adventure" and added, "We just love this part of the world," she added.

The couple had arrived in the Southern African nation in early April to await Shiloh's birth. They'd rented out the entire Burning Shore lodge. They were accompanied by Jolie's children, 16-month-old Zahara, adopted from Ethiopia, and 4-year-old Maddox, adopted from Cambodia.

Both children had their surnames legally changed to Jolie-Pitt after Pitt announced his intention to adopt them as well. But the couple has denied rumors of an impending wedding, saying they want to concentrate on the children for now.

Jolie's brother, James Haven, tells PEOPLE of seeing the new parents with their infant daughter shortly after Shiloh's May 27 arrival, "To see the father, mother, daughter – it was such a beautiful image that it overtook me."

Last week news conference was Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s first public appearance since Jolie, 31, gave birth to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt on May 27 at a private clinic in the resort town of Walvis Bay. The baby weighed 7 pounds and was said to be in good health.

Speaking of Namibia, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s bodyguard, Mickey Brett is currently facing legal action in Namibia.

Restaurant owner Theuns Duvenhage has claimed that Brett beat him up and damaged his eye in the brawl.

According to ChinaDaily.com, Duvenhage’s lawyer said: "Since Brett is a foreign national and about to leave the country, we abandoned the arrest because he deposited a sum of money as security at his lawyer's office, covering the damages claimed plus legal costs.

"We now contemplate when to have the summons issued to Brett and the law will take its course."
