A "24" movie being prepped

Good news for “24�? fans. The hit Fox TV show is coming to the big screen. Film studio 20th Century Fox and the producers of the show have made a deal to make the series into a movie, Variety reported today. According to Variety, no one in the cast is attached to star in the film yet, but Kiefer Sutherland has said he would like to continue his role as Jack Bauer.

Series creators, Robert Cochran and Joel Surnow will write the script, but they may need to alter part of the show’s formula for success in order to translate it into a feature film. Variety said it’s like that a movie version of “24�? would ditch it’s real-time premise and would take place over more than one day.

Cochran and Surnow have done a rough outline of the movie’s plot and hope to film the movie in the spring or summer of 2008, while the show is on hiatus.
