White and wife welcome new daughter

White Stripes frontman Jack White must really have a thing for the South. The singer, who recently moved to Tennessee, has named his daughter after one of the most beloved southern characters in American literature, Scarlett O’Hara.

White’s wife, supermodel Karen Elson gave birth to their first child, Scarlett Teresa, on Tuesday. Jack’s family confirmed the birth to the Detroit Free Press and said that Scarlett was born in Tennessee. Sources told the paper that O’Hara from Gone with the Wind inspired the name. Teresa is White’s mother’s name.
